Antony
Garwy, age 93 years, of Elroy, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the
Mile Bluff Medical Center in Mauston, Wisconsin.
He was born
on August 7, 1916 in Racine, Wisconsin. He was raised by the McNamara family at
Mack Valley, rural Elroy, along with Margaret Cafferty. Antony was united in
marriage to Maxine E. Severson on October 26, 1937 at St. Aloysius Catholic
Church in Hillsboro. They lived at Elroy for many years, where he was a semi
truck driver. She preceded him in death on May 16, 1997. Antony was a member
of the St. Patricks Catholic Church in Elroy, the Knights of Columbus, and the
Teamsters Union.
Survivors
include his daughter, Glenda (Charles) Huschka of Elroy; grandchildren, Charles
A. Huschka and Camilla Huschka (John Dausman); great-grandson, Charlie Huschka;
and in laws, Teddy (Marilyn) Severson of Florida, Orval (Farell) Severson of
Onalaska, Jerry Severson of LaCrosse, and Karen (Warren) Hoff of Onalaska. In
addition to his wife, Maxine, he was preceded in death by his Parents and a
daughter, Sandra Garwy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be held on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Patricks Catholic
Church in Elroy, with Father Richard Dickman officiating. Burial will be in the
St. Patricks Catholic Cemetery in Elroy. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral
Home in Elroy on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 to
11 a.m.
