David
M. Machovec, age 57 years, of Yuba, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010
surrounded by his loving family at the St. Josephs Memorial Hospital in
Hillsboro, Wisconsin following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on October 12, 1952 to Martin
and Vivian (Revels) Machovec at Hillsboro. David grew to adulthood in the Yuba
area and attended Hillsboro High School. David was united in marriage to Kim
Brockman on June 24, 1972 in Richland Center.
At an early age he began working on the farm
and also was a milk hauler. Then he worked in logging with Dalbergs, Hyneks,
and Kevin Machovec, as well as dairy farming. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting
and fishing; and spending time with family and his many good friends.
Survivors include his wife, Kim; children,
Kelly Machovec of Reedsburg, Christina (Gary) Wiedenfeld of Ithaca, Heath
(Samantha) Machovec of Reedsburg, Casey (Rick) Koch of LaValle, and Danielle
Machovec of Yuba; grandchildren, Nicholas, Frank, Brennan, Abby, Owen, Aspen,
Kyle and Megan; parents, Martin and Vivian Machovec of Yuba; brothers, Victor
(Suzanne) Machovec of Cazenovia and Kevin (Patricia) Machovec of Yuba; sisters,
Debra (Mike) Hubbard of Hillsboro, Lori (Gary) Stanek of Hillsboro, Julie
Hendricks of Cazenovia, Joan (Don) Bayer of Wonewoc, and Diane (Dale) Woodruff
of Hillsboro; sister-in-law, Bridget Machovec of Cazenovia; and his dog, Missy.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Garry Machovec; two grandchildren,
Amber and Jesse Koch; and a nephew, Tony Machovec.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 11:00
a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Pastor Barbara S. Miller
officiating. Burial will be in the Czechs National Cemetery near Yuba.
Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Monday from 4 to 8
p.m.
