Edward
A. Beckwith Sr., age 58 years, of rural Hillsboro, passed away on Monday,
November 2, 2009 at the William Middleton Memorial VA Hospital in Madison,
Wisconsin.
He was born on March 1, 1951 to Raphael and
Jessie (Petersen) Beckwith at Madison, Wisconsin, where he grew to adulthood and
attended school. Ed served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era in
1970 & 1971.
He lived at Madison and Janesville, working
for General Motors for 10 years, Rockford Nehi Cola (RC Cola), and in the
landscaping business. For the past twelve years he has lived near Yuba. Ed was
a good mechanic and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and gardening.
Survivors include a son, Edward Beckwith Jr.
of Hillsboro; daughter, Cher (Jorge) Diaz of Madison; stepson, David Hilgendorf
of Madison; three grandchildren, Torie, Tabitha, and Tiffany; step
granddaughter, Ocean; and mother, Jessie (Kenneth) Birkholz of Sun Prairie. He
was preceded in death by his Father and brother, Kenneth.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at
1:00 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Rev. Alan Tripp
officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Champion Valley Cemetery
near Yuba. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Saturday
from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
