Richard H. Lange, age 79 years, of rural Wonewoc, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at the UW Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
He was born on November 12, 1939 to Hartwig and Viola (Bradley) Lange near Wonewoc, Wisconsin. He graduated from the Wonewoc High School. Richard served in the U.S. Army National Guard 32nd “Red Arrow” Division from Wisconsin.
Richard was united in marriage to Margaret Ayers on July 18, 1970 in Brodhead, Wisconsin. He was a lifelong dairy farmer in the Town of Wonewoc. Richard was a member of the Town of Wonewoc Board for sixteen years and was committed to conservation.
Survivors include his wife, Maggie of Wonewoc; two children, Jane (Jason) Dallman of Wonewoc and Lewis (Maday) Lange of Baraboo; granddaughter, Adra Lange; brothers, Bruce (Veronica) Lange and Daniel Lange and sisters, Bonnie, Carole and Jean Lange and Nancy (David) Melin. He was preceded in death by his Parents and a brother, Bill Lange.
Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wonewoc, with Rev. Peter Snyder officiating. Friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The Picha Funeral Home in Wonewoc is assisting the family.
The family is grateful to the medical professionals that cared for him for the last three years and to Ed Schmidt for his dedication and hard work at the farm. Richard will be missed by his family and friends.
