Russell Dean Moore, age 85 years, of Kendall and formerly of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at his home in Kendall.
He was born on February 23, 1933 to Virgil and Lucille (Jacobs) Moore in Elroy, Wisconsin. Russell Dean was united in marriage to Geraldine Mc Bain on July 3, 1952 in Viroqua, Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 in the Korean War era.
Dean worked in delivery for Benson’s Fruit in Elroy, as a Mechanic for Peterson Chevrolet in Hillsboro for 33 years and in later years delivering fiberglass statues for Fast Corporation in Sparta.
He enjoyed racing stock cars in Wisconsin Dells when he was younger; the outdoors – hunting, fishing and camping; going for a ride to wherever the roads would take him and attending family reunions was always important.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine of Kendall; children, Donna (KJ) Tadder of New Lisbon, Eddy (Ida) Moore of Wisconsin Rapids and Brian (Virginia) Moore of Florida; seven Grandchildren; fourteen Step Grandchildren; many Great Grandchildren; brother, Duane of Lake Geneva and sisters, Barbara of Roscoe, IL, Jeanie of Florida, Margie of Ohio and Donna of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Bernadine.
Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
