Norma J. Myhre, age 91 years, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Matthews of Pewaukee in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
She was born on January 17, 1926 to Ernest and Fern (Stanley) Haines in Carroll, Nebraska. Norma was united in marriage to Clifford Myhre on March 26, 1949 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
They lived in Minneapolis and Elroy for a short period, before moving to Hillsboro in 1953, where they made their home. Cliff and Norma owned and operated Hansen’s Department Store in Hillsboro until retiring in 1989. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2001.
Norma was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Hillsboro, serving on various committees, singing in the choir, a Sunday School Teacher and volunteering at the Good Samaritan Thrift Store. She also enjoyed her friends, gardening, canning, walks, playing cards and traveling, especially trips to North Dakota and Minnesota to visit family.
Survivors include her four sons, Chuck (Marilyn) of Waukesha, Wayne (Judy) of Reedsburg, Darwin of Sussex and Rob (Shannon) of Pewaukee; grandchildren, Dana, Jonathan, Vanessa, Ashley and Samantha; eight Great Grandchildren; sister, Carol Black and partner, John Ernst and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Clifford; she was preceded in death by her Parents and two brothers, Wendell and James Haines.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Hillsboro, with Pastor David Bordy officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro. Friends may call at the Church on Thursday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. The Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.
