Vercelia M. McNamer, age 96 years, of rural Hillsboro, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Heritage Manor in Elroy, Wisconsin.
She was born on February 3, 1922 to Albert and Mary (Kosa) Pliner in the Town of Henrietta, Richland County, Wisconsin. She attended Melancthon Creek School, grades 1-8 and graduated from the Richland Center High School in 1940.
Vercelia was united in marriage to Herman McNamer on June 1, 1948 in Hillsboro. He was truly her one and only; they enjoyed dancing, playing cards and country life. They lived at Lodi, Wisconsin for 22 years where her husband taught school. In 1977 they returned to the Hillsboro area and lived in the farmhouse where she was born. Vercelia loved gardening, canning, working on crossword puzzles and watching Lawrence Welk on TV. Herman preceded her in death on November 19, 1997.
Survivors include her sons, Frank (Melinda) McNamer and Wayne (Sandi) McNamer; granddaughter, Kelly McNamer (Timon Musallam); grandson, Shaun McNamer; step grandchildren, Kayla (Kate), Tanya (Sean), Erik and Brett; a great grandson, Torben, and step great grandchildren, Spencer, Saraya and Jackson.
In addition to her husband, Herman; she was preceded in death by her Parents and a son, David Allen McNamer, who died on May 7, 1963.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will be in the Czech’s National Cemetery near Yuba. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.
