Judith Ann Kouba, age 78 years, of rural Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 3, 2019.
She was born September 16, 1940, in Hillsboro, to Paul and Dorothy (Pasch) Herdliska. Judy was raised near Mount Tabor and attended the Trippville country school, graduating from Hillsboro High School in 1958. She also attended teacher’s college in Richland Center and taught in one room school houses as well as substituted in the Hillsboro School District. In later years she worked as a secretary for Calvin Rose Trucking and Sterba Insurance.
On April 7, 1962, Judy was united in marriage to William (Bill) Kouba. Judy was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Hillsboro, and served on the Hillsboro Public Library Board for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Bill of Hillsboro; daughter, Karen (Jay Heldt) of La Crosse; son, Kevin of Middleton; and son, Kris of La Crosse as well as her grandchildren, Nicole (Will) Gardner, Rachel, and Nolan Kouba. She is further survived by her sister, Linda (Stan) Buchanan; brothers and sisters-in-law Mary (Tom) Baumgarten and Rick (Linda) Kouba and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro, with Father Don Bauer officiating. Interment will be in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery near Hillsboro. Friends may call at the Church on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorials may be made in Judy’s name to the Hillsboro Public Library.
