Charles E. “Chuck” Hammer, age 62 years, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at his home, with his family.
He was born on June 25, 1955 to Edward C. and Lillian (Knadle) Hammer in Hillsboro, where he grew to adulthood and graduated from the Hillsboro High School in 1973. Chuck was united in marriage to Dianne Kouba on September 27, 1980 in Hillsboro.
Chuck worked for the family business, Hillsboro Telephone Co. ever since graduation in 1973. He had many interests and hobbies including riding his Harley Davidson, an avid hunter and outdoorsman, enjoyed operating his farm and spending time with his family.
He was also very active in the community, serving as a Boy Scout Leader, Hunter Safety Instructor, President of the Rolling Hills Sportsmen Club, School Bus Driver and the Mount Vernon Cemetery Board Member.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne; children, Matthew (Rachel), Katie (Joe) Lockington and Aaron (Brayvyn); grandchildren, Wyatt & Lyla Lockington and Landrie Hammer; mother, Lillian; siblings, Alesa (Steve) Benish, Donald (Danita), Carla (Butch) Shaker, Thomas (Shelly) and Cindy (Steve) Austin; nieces and nephews and special friends, Ron (Virginia) Cilley. He was preceded in death by his Father and sister-in-law, Kris Hammer.
Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Burr Wesleyan Church, rural Hillsboro, with Rev. Jason Kirkpatrick officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, June 3, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro and at the Church on Monday from 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a fund to be established in Chuck’s memory.
