Beverly J. Larson, age 80 years, of rural Wonewoc, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Serenity House in Tomah, Wisconsin.
She was born on November 23, 1937 to Thomas and Dorothy (Palmer) Lane in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She graduated from the Prairie du Chien High School and from UW Platteville with a Teaching Degree, later she received her Master’s Degree from UW La Crosse. Beverly was united in marriage to Eugene Larson on August 21, 1965 at the United Methodist Church in Wonewoc.
Beverly was a teacher and librarian for the Wonewoc Center School District for many years. She also was involved with her husband, Gene “Beef” Larson in their farming operation. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1997.
Beverly was very active in the community; she was a member of the Wonewoc Public Library Board, St. Joseph’s Hospital Board, Wonewoc Center School Board, Juneau County Board, and United Methodist Church in Wonewoc. With her husband, they were active in tree farming, receiving the Wisconsin State Tree Farmers of the Year award and were members of the Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association for many years. Beverly also enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her son, Gregory Larson of Wonewoc; grandchildren, Tanya and Jesse; step granddaughter, Bambi; two brothers, Loren (Barbara) Lane and Roger (Gloria) Lane, both of Mount Hope; sister-in-law, La Vonne (Bernard) Domke of Random Lake and brother-in-law, Larry (Jennie) Larson of Madison. In addition to her husband, Eugene; she was preceded in death by her Parents and a brother, Julian Lane.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Wonewoc, with Rev. Dr. Wesley Jacob officiating. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home – 402 Center Street, Wonewoc on Friday, March 2nd from 3 to 8 p.m. and at the Church on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Wonewoc Public Library or Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association – Central Sands Chapter.
