John D. Hawkey, age 62 years, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018 at his home.
He was born on November 10, 1955 to Floyd and Nellie (Mazanek) Hawkey in Peoria, Illinois. He graduated from the Hillsboro High School in 1974.
John farmed in the Town of Greenwood until the mid 1990’s. He then moved to Hillsboro and worked for Hardy Construction and later started his own dump truck service, Hawk Trucking.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, shooting pool, driving truck, the Wisconsin Badgers and his car collection.
Survivors include his wife, Deb Hawkey of Hillsboro; daughter, Jonae (Andy) Peterson of Cazenovia and her children, Kasen, Jaelyn, Hudson and Jaxon; daughter, Jade Strohmeyer of Hillsboro and her children, Payten and Brooklyn; Deb’s three children, Bobbie (Erik) Trost of St. Francis, MN and family, Linnea and Kendall, Brandon Jones of Marshall, MN and Brent Jones of Rapid City, SD; mother, Nellie Hawkey of Tomah; sister, Susan O’Rourke of Tomah and brother, Lyle (Pat) Hawkey of Brooklyn, WI.
time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 2,
2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Wisconsin.
