Harry A. Barz, age 86 years, of Hillsboro, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro, Wisconsin.
He was born on June 19, 1930 to Harry and Verna (Piotrowski) Barz in Chicago, Illinois. The family moved to Sheldon, near Ladysmith, where Harry graduated from the Tony High School. Harry served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War Era.
On July 6, 1957 Harry was united in marriage to Carolyn Warchalowski in Conrath, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2016.
Harry drove milk truck a few years, worked at the Sheldon Co-op where he became general manager; later moved to Hillsboro, WI where he was general manager of the Hillsboro Farmer’s Co-op and finished his working career selling trucks for the La Farge Truck Center.
He was a member of the Hillsboro American Legion Post and the Hillsboro Snowmobile Club.
Survivors include his sons, Harry Barz of Hillsboro and Michael Barz of Waukesha; sister, Josie Hamilton of Ladysmith and sister-in-law, Susan Berek of Chicago. In addition to his wife, Carolyn, he was preceded in death by his Parents; step-father, Joe and brother, George Kozial.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial with military rites will be in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.
