Orrie
L. Miller, age 84 years, of Hillsboro, went to his heavenly home on Monday,
November 30, 2009. He resided at Heritage Manor in Elroy, Wisconsin.
He was born on April 18, 1925 to Bernard and
Rhoda (Murray) Miller in Sauk County, Wisconsin. Orrie was united in marriage to
Evelyn Clark on June 9, 1945 at her Parents home at Jug Creek. They farmed for
many years in the Town of Woodland until 1980 when they moved into Hillsboro.
In addition to his work on the farm he hauled milk, can and bulk, and they also
did a lot of custom haying work, he also worked at a mink ranch when he was
younger. Orrie was active in the community, as a member of the Hillsboro
Wesleyan Church serving on various boards and helping out when needed, served on
the Wisconsin Dairies Board, the Town of Woodland Board and Hillsboro City
Council.
Orrie is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn
of Hillsboro and their five children, Carolyn (Eugene) Barreau of Cazenovia,
Dennis (Kay) Miller of Hillsboro, Charlotte (Daniel) Shore of Hillsboro, Donald
(Mary) Miller of Wonewoc, and Dale (Judy) Miller of Wonewoc; they had 21
Grandchildren and Spouses and 41 Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by 5
sisters, Hazel Winchell of Viroqua, Marie Nottestad of Beloit, Joyce Ruetten of
LaCrosse, Lucille Frye of Waunakee, and Hilda DeLong of Grand Island, New York;
two brothers, Melvin Bud Miller of LaValle and Gordon Miller of Cross Plains
and further survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in
death by his Parents, a sister, Grace and three brothers, Ralph, Lloyd and
Harry.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at
11:00 a.m. at the Hillsboro Wesleyan Church, with Rev. Roger Miller
officiating. Burial will be at the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro. Friends
may call at a time of visitation from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the Picha Funeral
