He was born on September 22, 1920 to Gustav and Elizabeth (Schumann) Zirk in the Town of Glendale, Monroe County, Wisconsin. He graduated from the Kendall High School in 1938. On August 5, 1944, Raymond was united in marriage to Evelyn Olson at the Peace Lutheran Church in Elroy. They have been life long farmers in the Town of Glendale, where he also served with various organizations and affiliations; they are also members of the Grace Lutheran Church in Elroy. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; three sons, Randall (Sue) of Madison, Bruce (Julie) of LaValle and Jerry (Becky) of Elroy; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Alyssa, Jennifer, Emily and Amanda; and a brother-in-law, Martin Olson of Reedsburg. He was preceded in death by his Parents, a daughter, Sherri; and two sisters, Dolores McCelland and Adeline Siekert. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Elroy, with Rev. Wesley Dunbar officiating. Burial will be at the St. Luke’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Elroy. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Elroy on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the Church on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The family suggests memorials be given to Alzheimer’s Research in lieu of flowers. |
