Ronald C. Cilley, age 74 years, of rural Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
He was born on August 27, 1946 to Donald and Bernice (Gross) Cilley in Hillsboro. Ron graduated from the Hillsboro High School in 1964.
Ron was united in marriage to Virginia Farra on August 14, 1965 in Hillsboro.
They lived in the Hillsboro area and he worked at various jobs, including a can milk route, maintenance at the sewing factory, excavation work for Lyle Lind and operating the Standard Station in Hillsboro. In 1968 Ron began working with his step father, Jim Stanek at Stanek’s Garage, until he purchased the business in 1984 and continued the mechanic and exhaust work until 2011. They also operated Hillsboro School Buses until they sold them in 2007.
Ron was a member of the Hillsboro Fire Department. He enjoyed his John Deere tractor and Ford truck; their many years of deer hunting near Warrens; traveling and motorcycling and watching wildlife.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; brother, Clifford Cilley; nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces; brother-in-law, Rick (Becky) Farra; sisters-in-law, Mary Lowrey, Margarette Farra and Elizabeth Farra and step aunt, Bernice Steinmetz.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step father, Bernice and James E. Stanek; father, Donald Cilley and brothers-in-law, Howard, Lee and Ed Farra.
A Celebration of Ron’s Life will take place at a later date.
