David Charles Biermeier, age 85 years, of Wonewoc, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship, Wisconsin.
He was born on March 6, 1935 in Wonewoc to
William F. Biermeier and Leora (Miller) Biermeier. He was united in marriage to Doris Mae
(Olson) Biermeier on November 21, 1964. They celebrated 56 years of marriage in
2020.
David was a lifelong member of St. Jerome’s
Catholic Church in Wonewoc. He was a
hard worker who enjoyed all the jobs he held throughout his life. He enjoyed his time working on the family
farm, working on the railroad, working at Ray-O-Vac, and other various jobs. He enjoyed working in general and was always
willing to help anyone who needed it. He
loved to tell stories of his family, his friends, and his work. He enjoyed playing cards, doing cross word
puzzles, watching baseball and game shows.
David was preceded in death by his father,
William and his mother, Leora; his brother, James (Marion) Biermeier and his
sister, Helen (Robert) Longnecker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doris; his
daughter, Jodeen (Kurt) Meckstroth and his son, Jason Biermeier; as well as his
sisters Dorothy (Philip) Doyle and Joan (William) Sands and his brothers, John
(Beverly) Biermeier and Robert (Sharon) Nowatzski.
David had seven grandchildren, Vince (Betsey)
Meckstroth, Melissa (Stewart) Whitson, Mark Meckstroth, Victor (Lauren)
Meckstroth, Max (Maura) Meckstroth, Brooke Biermeier and Drew Biermeier. He has nine great-grandchildren. He would always end his phone conversation by
saying give everyone “smackers” for me and tell them that “I love them”. His grandchildren remember his many stories
and that he was a joking and caring man to them.
A visitation will be held from 9:00AM until 10:30AM on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Picha Funeral Home in Wonewoc followed by a Mass of Christian Burial which will be conducted at 11:00AM at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church of Wonewoc officiated by Father Donald Bauer. The burial will follow in St. Theresa’s Catholic Cemetery in Union Center. The Picha Funeral Home in Wonewoc is assisting with arrangements.
