Frieda J. Hagemann, age 90 years, of rural Wonewoc, Wisconsin, was called to her eternal home in heaven on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
She was born on April 1, 1931, the daughter of Earl and Alma (Weber) Kimball. She was one of seven children, LeRoy, Grover, Wanda, Marion, Roland and Alice. Frieda married Alvin Hagemann on May 29, 1952. They were married for 64 years. Together they had three children, Sandra, Alvin and Leland.
She worked at Ray O Vac until it burned and then at Badger Ordinance until starting her family. In 1961, Frieda went back to work for Ray O Vac and retired from Ray O Vac at age 65.
In addition to working outside the home, she was a hard-working farm wife. She enjoyed gardening, canning food, quilting and taking care of her chickens. Frieda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren, especially cribbage, Uno, Phase 10 and 500. Frieda was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Wonewoc.
Survivors include her children, Sandra Hagemann, Alvin (Val) Hagemann and Leland Hagemann; her grandchildren, Sharon (Scott) Reese, Nathaniel (Samantha) Hagemann, Alma (Gary) Schnurr, Rebekah Hagemann, Jennifer Hagemann, Matt Hagemann and Mark Hagemann; her great grandchildren, Aria, Ronald and Arthur Schnurr, Melany, Charlie, Lindsey and Avery Reese; her step great grandchildren, Brooklyn Larson, Gavin Hill and Bryce Hill; her sister, Alice Roloff; her sister-in-law, Charlotte Kimball; and her brothers-in-law, Edward and Lawrence Hagemann.
Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Alma Kimball; her husband, Alvin; her siblings and spouses, LeRoy Kimball, Grover and Jean Kimball, Wanda and Roy Field, Rollie and Dottie Kimball and Marion and Charles Pagel; brother-in-law, Ernie Roloff; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Arnold and Lillian Hagemann, Laura and Eddie Lewerenz and Leola Hagemann.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Wonewoc on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral. It is requested that mourners wear masks and practice social distancing. Because of COVID, there will be no lunch served. Burial will be in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Wonewoc. The Picha Funeral Home in Wonewoc is assisting with arrangements.
